over due update

Lots of things have been going on in my life these past couple of months.

In March one of my good friends came to spend some time with me. Chantel was my roommate my first year at SVU. She is from Texas so lets face it she is pretty much the best! Just like every time someone comes to see me I get sick. She was a real trooper and we mostly stayed at my house and talked of good times. I was feeling lots better by Saturday and that is when we decided to go to the Greenville Zoo. I was really impressed my the small zoo and had a blast with my friend.

Chantel and I at the Zoo

Next we go to Easter. It was a fun Easter because it was also conference weekend. I love when we get to hear our Prophet and Apostles speak. I always feel so refreshed and motivated after conference weekend. Some of my friends invited me to there land where we had a cookout, atv's, easter egg hunt, and some fun socializing. It was this year where I learned that my favorite holiday is Easter. I love any opportunity to be reminded of the resurrection of our Savor and I love also the low expectations in the gift giving department.

Now I will have to say is the best news in a long time. I went to SVU to see my friend Lena graduate and while I was there I decided to end this long drama involving my diploma. In 4 short emails with my advisor we got everything all worked out and they will be sending me my diploma in the mail. they only thing that I am waiting to see about what date they are going to put on it because SVU is waiting to hear if the school has gotten their accreditation. I am hoping that they did and that they can back date my diploma so that it says I graduated from an accredited school. Well really I don't care I just want my diploma.

And last but not least I got a second job. I will be working as a mental health tech at the Carolina Center for Behavioral Health. I decided to get a second job because I was not getting very many hours with FPS. When my hours pick up I will still be able to work both jobs. I am really excited to be working at the Carolina Center. I think it will be a great learning experience because I will be doing a job that is different then the one I am doing now.

While all of this is happening I got a new calling. I am the Stake RS secretary. I am a little scared but I am really excited about this calling. I feel like I will learn more about how the RS works. I hope that I will develop a greater love for the organization. I hope that I can grow in the way the Lord wants me to. So far I have really enjoyed getting to know the different wards and branches in my stake.

Over all things are going well in my life. My girl is back home and by girl I mean my dog. My house is not the same with out her. I know she had fun in Alabama and I am glad she did. I am really glad that Mom and Marlon don't mind watching her when I go on my many traveling trips and well we all know how my summers get.

That is all for now I will write more after my next adventure.

SNOW!

If you know me well you know that when the news says its going to snow the words out of my mouth is yeah right I will believe it when I see it. Well it snowed. I was driving home from work and it just started coming. I considered myself lucky to get home when I did because the snow makes my half hour drive into an hour drive. I will say that my crazy side did take over a friend and I decided to go to dinner and a movie on friday even thought it was snowing like crazy. My friend and I decided to have a girls night. She is my sushi friend and we went and saw Valentines day the movie. I love hanging out with friend and it really made this weekend a good one. I am not a big fan of Valentines day.

I got the chance to go to Alabama and spend sometime with my family. It was so great to have my brother and his family come out. I love seeing how much Rocky has grown. He talks so much and gets along with people really well. I wish I could have spent more time with him. I know I have talked a lot about my nephew but I was also really glad that I got the chance to spend time with my brother and his wife. I am always so grateful for their support and encouragement in all I do.

Rocky loves to go exploring.
Rocky making biscuits with GG.
Rocky and I had some fun coloring on the window. No worries it came off really easy.
Rocky learning about wood burning stoves.

I thought I would do this backwards this time. As you can see I cut my hair. It was a spur of the moment thing but I decided to cut about 8 inches off my hair. I guess you could say a new year so why not get a new hair style.

Merry Christmas from alabama....
This was our first christmas in Mom and Marlons house.

Believe it or not this is pudges brother. Some say that pudge is big for a boxer well look at her brother. He is taller and he weighs way more then my girl.

One year older...

Ok so I can't tell you how long I have been playing with this picture to try and make it stand right and well I give up. If you are wondering about this picture well I will tell you. It has been a couple of weeks since my birthday day and I am now getting the post up. This is the one of the birthday presents that I got. Nancy made this pretty apron for me. I think she did a great job. I will be honest and tell you that I was not looking forward to my birthday but I have to admit that it was a really great birthday. I am a weird girl because I like getting things for my kitchen. I also got a rice cooker from my mom that I really love and have already used. I am blessed to live in a great area with great members of the church. A great family has adopted me and threw me a birthday party. It was really fun. I am not sure why I was not excited about this birthday but I am glad that it was a good one!
By the way if anyone knows how to fix the photo please let me know. It is right in my photo album. Its weird I tell ya. :)

Super Woman

If you know me at all you know I like to stay busy. These past couple of weeks I have been really busy but I have loved every minute of it. Well except for the time I had the cold but other then that I love spending time with friends and family. I am now in my house. I spent the day organizing my kitchen and unpacking more boxes. You would think that I would be done unpacking but boy are you wrong. Packing and unpacking is the worst thing about moving but all in all it is so worth it. I have been out of town a lot and that has set my unpacking back some. I spent some time in Utah visiting my family. It was great because I got to go to the Oquirrh Mountain Temple for the open house. The best part was going with my brother Bryan and his family. Bryan and Mindi have been helping with the tours and they know all the cool stuff about the temple. Here are some fun pictures of my family. It was great to see everyone and I can't believe how fast nephews and nieces grow up.

Well I have made up my mind. I am buying a house. This was a really hard decision to make but I know its the right decision. I have looked at many houses and if you know me well you know that the one thing I asked for is a fenced in yard. Many of you this may not surprise because you know that my dog is pretty important to me. As I have been going through this process I have learned that wow it is not easy. I knew there was going to be a lot of paper work but holy crap it has been crazy. I keep telling myself that in the end it will all be worth it. I was going to close on the 1 but that has been moved I will now be closing on the 7 of July. I guess you could say that it will be a 4 of july present. You can call me crazy because not long after I close on my house I have planed a trip to Utah. I guess you could say that it is a good thing I don't have to be out of my apartment until the 11 of August. I am really excited for the next stage in my life. I honestly didn't see myself buying a house by myself. Its times like this that I am thankful for being taught how to be independent and how to save.
